OMG Life is suffering
The Latin root of the word suffer is “sufferre” which essentially means to bear up under or to undergo . It combines the verb ”ferre” meaning to carry or to bear.
"Life is suffering" refers to a common and westernized translation of the first dukkah of the 4 noble truths central to Buddhism and causes unneeded suffering within ourselves, impacting the world we inhabit.
In that span of the decades growing up in southern California, I have seen how a place can transform into somewhere else, sometimes in fast and sometimes in slow motion. The impact of migrating humans with common longings on this once uninterrupted wilderness forever disrupts and displaces wild denizens and fellow residents of this vast and magical place called home.
